Leesville Lake is located in South/Central Virginia, about 25 minutes south of Lynchburg, Va.  The closest town to Leesville Lake is Altavista, Va which is conveniently located right off of Virginia Routh 29. 

Leesville Lake was created as a part of the Smith Mountain hydro-electric storage project back in the 1960's.  Leesville Lake is 17 miles long, with 110 miles of shoreline.  It has been pegged by the Department of Environmental Quality as Virginia's cleanest lake.

Leesville Lake is a quiet yet growing community.  It is known as a family lake with some of the states best water skiing and fishing.  A handful of developments have recently opened on the lake and new homes and lots are opening up.
